We are currently searching for an experienced Senior SAN Engineer or Architect located in the Denver area. The ideal candidate will leverage their design, architecture, implementation, support and administration experience to migrate server based technology to a cloud-based, hosted solution. This is an excellent career opportunity for individuals with a data center architecture background who would like to step into collaboration solutions in a hosted environment.
Role Responsibilities:
Design, architecture, administration & support of enterprise wide EMC SAN hosted solution.
Troubleshoot end-to-end resolution of identified (hardware/software/configuration) issues, including failed disk drives, power supplies, performance, capacity, connectivity, transmission errors.
As part of a team help support VMware infrastructure virtualization solutions
Creation and administration of fabric configurations such as device aliases/fcaliases, zones and zonesets.
Creation and administration of RAID groups, storage groups, aggregates, volumes, LUNs and the provisioning of these to client hosts (Windows, UNIX, ESX)
Capacity management and planning
Work with other teams, such as Backup team to implement/support Information Life Cycle Management (ILM) strategies/implementations.
Requirements:
5 years experience with design, architecture, administration & support experience in enterprise wide EMC SAN solutions.
5 to 7 years experience in progressive network systems engineering
• Knowledge and experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Virtual Desktop Integration (VDI), IBM PowerVM or working with teams that have implemented these solutions on SAN/NAS environments.
Experience working with Cisco MDS Multilayer Fabric Switches: 9148's or 6120's in a fiber channel infrastructure.
In-depth knowledge in any of the following SAN/NAS storage subsystems: NetApp, EMC, or Compellent.
Knowledge/experience with Onstor NAS gateways, Nexsan SATABeasts, and DataDomain.
Excellent verbal communication and client facing skills.
BA degree in Computer Science/MIS or equivalent work experience is preferred.
Able to provide 24/7 on-call rotation support
Desired Skills:
• Familiarity with UCS B Series Blade Servers
Strong experience with host side configurations and connectivity on Windows, UNIX and ESX hosts. This includes experience in installation and configuration of HBAs and associated firmware/drivers and scanning and configuration of LUNs/Volumes.
