Principal-Product Development Engineer
Duties: Coordinate module emerging device and mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), original equipment manufacturer (OEM) vendors to ensure compliance with device technical acceptance process; apply global system for mobile communication (GSM), general packet radio service (GPRS), universal mobile telecommunication systems (UMTS), high speed packed access (HSPA) wireless standards and long term evolution (LTE) technologies; collaborate with cross functional teams to set technical acceptance schedules for testing of new devices and ensure timely execution; apply enhanced network selection (ENS), enhanced operating name service (EONS), radio access technology (RAT) to evaluate reports of device defects; assess and report risk factors for technical acceptance for devices; lead requirement review, test and investigation of post launch device issues with internal teams and vendors; manage and define wireless carrier certification process, including mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), requirements and test cases; monitor wireless industry and regulatory requirements, including Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and PCS-1900 Type Certification Review Board (PTCRB).
Qualifications: Requirements: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Computer Science followed by five years of progressive experience applying global system for mobile communication (GSM), general packet radio service (GPRS), universal mobile telecommunication systems (UMTS), and high speed packed access (HSPA) wireless standards, with one year therein to include experience with wireless carrier certification process.
